I liked how Dr. Jernigan always takes the time to explain and answer every question I have. Knowledgeable, personable, with a kind manner about him, he laughed with me when I joked about him enjoying poking me to find that source of my pain. I like that! Over and above. Too many doctors are aloof and unapproachable. Not Dr. Jernigan. And he took the time to answer hand questions not even related to my pain, writing down the name of a tendon so that I could go home and read up on it. I’ll recommend him if a friend needs a hand specialist.Five+ stars!

I have been doing PT at the Edwards Mill location for several weeks following a TKR by Dr. Chiavetta. I have been working with a great team of therapists, including Amy, Daniel, Zach, and their aids. They are all professional and take an interest in their patients.I primarily worked with Amy and Daniel. They are easy to work with and it is obvious they enjoy their work. Amy and Daniel are personable and have a great sense of humor. They encourage you to challenge yourself and answer your questions. Both of them take time to get to know a little about you.I only worked with Zach one time while doing my rehab, but I found him to be professional, friendly, and interested in my progress. He provided some good suggestions on areas I need to focus on. He, too, shows a genuine interest in his patients.I would definitely recommend any of these therapists if you are considering PT at the Edwards Mill location. They make an excellent team!

Count yourself lucky if you get Tracey as your physical therapist. At my first appointment/assessment she gauged I was doubtful I would meet necessary benchmarks. Tracey has the right mix of cheerleader, and coach…praising progress and appropriately pushing you to achieve your best results in a safe way. In 1 week of therapy I am just anout at my benchmarks and encouraged I will soar to my full potential. Her assistant Allysa is excellent as well and they work in tandem extremely well.UPDATE:Hands down I have the BEST Physical Therapist in Raleigh. Not only has she helped me reach the necessary measurements but also the range of motion after my total knee replacement.That would be enough… but there’s more. Tracey, who is also a pain specialist, recognized early on that I was having a nerve response. Tracey was right. I am thankfully now working with a pain doctor who, after testing, discovered I have 2 pinch nerves affecting my knee.This was only found because Tracey advocated for me even when my surgeon was reluctant to send me.Tracey Morris is the Physical Therapist you want!

If your insurance plan has a copay, that will be collected at the time of check-in. At your first appointment with Raleigh Orthopaedic, you will be expected to complete new patient forms, including a medical history questionnaire. You can update your demographics and fill out your new patient forms prior to your appointment through our Patient Portal. These forms will be used to get a baseline overview of pre-existing conditions and a better initial understanding of where and how you’re experiencing pain or discomfort.
